Cozy Division Sweater

8,90

The Cozy Division Sweater is my idea of the perfect sweater: a knit that is both minimalist and full of thoughtful details that bring joy both while knitting and when wearing it. Worked from the top down, Cozy Division’s most striking feature is its saddle shoulder seams, which give the sweater a look that is simultaneously sporty and refined. Long ribbed cuffs and a high side slit at the hem add structure to an otherwise clean, simple silhouette. The pattern comes with an option for a hem without a slit as well. The samples are knitted with merino wool, but if you love a soft mohair halo, you can easily choose a combination of fingering-weight yarn held together with mohair instead.

Description

Overview of the project:

Cozy Division is knitted from the top down, starting at the shoulder seams, after which the upper back and neckline are shaped using short rows. Stitches are then picked up along one shoulder seam to shape the front and neckline before the body is joined and worked in the round. Sleeve stitches are picked up directly from the armholes and knitted in the round, with short rows used to create a well-fitting sleeve shape. Ribbing is worked at the cuffs and hem, with the option to knit the hem with or without a slit. Finally, stitches are picked up at the neckline to work a folded ribbed collar.
