Winehouse Sweater

$11.00

The Winehouse Sweater is a timelessly stylish wardrobe staple, worked seamlessly from the top down. Its charm lies in the beautiful, fit-enhancing details: the shoulder seams of the saddle shoulders continue crisply from the armhole down through the underarm to the hem, and short rows are added to the back to improve the fit of the neckline.

If you’ve knitted raglan sweaters and are looking to try something new, the Winehouse Sweater is a wonderful next step. The increases are worked first into the body and then into the sleeves, creating elegantly shaped and well-fitting saddle shoulders.

Description

Overview of the sweater:

The Winehouse Sweater is a timelessly elegant knit, worked seamlessly from the top down in one piece. It features beautiful details along the shoulder seams that flow from the armhole all the way down to the hem.

This saddle shoulder sweater is knitted using the contiguous raglan method, where increases are first made only for the body and later for the sleeves. This construction improves the overall fit. Short rows are also worked on the back piece at the beginning to shape the neckline so it sits more comfortably at the front.

The twisted rib raglan lines continue seamlessly from the neckline through the body and down to the hem, creating a polished and refined look. All ribbings are worked in twisted rib. The neckline ribbing can either be left high or folded and secured double to the inside for a clean finish.
