Description

Overview of the sweater:

Lou Lou is a chunky brioche sweater knitted from the bottom up in one piece using large needles. The sweater has a generous oversized fit, dropped shoulders, and slightly balloon-shaped sleeves that are gathered with snug ribbed cuffs.

The hem features a short ribbed section that pulls the hem together before transitioning into the brioche stitch for the body. The body is knitted in the round up to the underarms, after which the work is split into front and back sections, which are worked separately. The neckline shaping on the front is done with brioche decreases. Once the body is finished, the shoulder seams are joined, and stitches are picked up around the neckline to knit the ribbed collar. The sleeves are knitted directly onto the body in the round. The sleeves have a nice volume, which is finally gathered and finished with snug double ribbed cuffs.

Difficulty level: Lou Lou is perfect for a knitter who knows basic knitting techniques and wants a little extra challenge with brioche knitting.
