Solhem hat pattern

Overview of the hat: 

Solhem hat is a lovely combination of brioche knit and texture pattern. It is worked bottom up in the round, first knitting the brioche part and then continuing with slightly larger needles with an easy texture pattern. This hat doesn’t have any decreases and in the end all stitches are gathered together to finish the hat. 

Sizes: (1)2(3)4 – see measurements below

Measurements: 
1: child (smaller) –  circumference of the finished hat approx. 45-47 cm (when stretched a bit)

2: child (bigger) – circumference of the finished hat approx. . 49-51 cm  (when stretched a bit)

3: adult (smaller) – circumference of the finished hat approx. . 53-55 cm  (when stretched a bit)

4: adult (bigger) – circumference of the finished hat approx. 57-60 cm  (when stretched a bit)

Yarn: fingering strength

Example yarn 1: Säiewool Merino Sock 80(80)100(100) g / 340(340)420(420) m

Note! You can knit the hat with any fingering strength yarn, as long as it meets the gauge (below). Yarn in pictures is Säiewool Merino Sock in colorway Crispy Ginger Cream

 

Needles: 

• 4 mm 40 cm circular needles /double pointed needles
• 3,5 mm 40 cm circular needles /double pointed needles

 

Other materials: Stitch markers, tapestry needle 

Gauge (in brioche stitch): 10 x 10 cm = 22 sts x 26 rows. (Alter the needle size if necessary, to meet the gauge)
