And the name Brooke Logan? As a child, my favorite character from the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful was Brooke. Coincidentally, in winter 2025 I designed a sweater for Laine’s Finnish Knits publication using yarn from Säie Wool, a design which I named after Ridge Forrester (pattern for Ridge here). Since Brooke Logan is also knitted with Säie Wool yarn and felt like the perfect companion piece to Ridge, I wanted to call it Brooke.

Ridge Forrester Sweater
My childhood TV favourite was the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. In the series, the heartbroken Ridge Forrester often retreated to his Big Bear cabin to grow out his beard and reflect on his relationships — often wearing a cosy, stylish turtleneck or something equally relaxed. This comfortable yet timeless turtleneck is knitted top down and features large cables and snug-fitting ribbings. A sweater Ridge would certainly have worn, too.
This turtleneck sweater is knitted top down in one piece. It features drop shoulders, a relaxed fit and double-folded ribbing on the sleeves and neck. Wide cables are worked along the body while a wide ribbing is worked on the hem and sleeve cuffs.
