The Buddy sweater is a boxy, relaxed and plush knit that can be done even by a beginner. It has
dropped shoulders and an oversized fit. The sweater is knitted in one piece from the bottom up to
the armpits, where the front and back parts are separated and knitted separately before joining
the shoulder seams. Stitches are picked up from the neckline to knit a twisted double ribbing. If
you want a high collar for the sweater, leave the rib unturned. Stitches for the sleeves are picked
up and knitted along the armholes and the sleeves are worked in the round down to the long rib
cuffs.

If you haven’t yet dared to knit a sweater, the Buddy sweater is a good place to start. For a more
experienced knitter, this is an easy knitting project, the appearance of which can be modified, for
example, by knitting the surface with moss stitch instead of stockinette.

The Buddy sweater is designed to have approx. 20-30 cm (7,5-12 inches) of positive ease, meaning
it is designed to be 20-30 cm (7,5-12 inches) larger in circumference than your bust measurement.
Here’s how to choose the right size: Measure your own chest circumference (or the widest point
on your upper body), add 20-30 cm / 7,5-12 inches to it, and based on the sum, choose the right size according to the dimensions of the finished shirt. For example, if your chest circumference is
108 cm / 42 inches, choose size number 5.
